VISTEON - Manufacturing

Solution Highlights

Solution data collection for manufacturing environment with communication "real time" radio frequency 802.11b;
Integration of "end-to-end" of the solution data residing with the Oracle database through a system of lamps and plug in's "of communication developed by InteMobile.

Brief History

Visteon is a leader in the manufacture and supply of parts and the automotive industry, producing various components such as sound systems, air conditioning, panels, among others. It is present in 44 countries and with clients as Ford, Renault, Peugeot-Citroen, Fiat, Nissan, Honda and Volkswagen / Seat. In Brazil, Visteon has approximately 3,000 employees located in major auto factories in the country. The InteMobile was the vendor of choice for the development and deployment solution for mounting the control panels of the new Ford Fiesta and the recently launched Ford Eco-Sport, currently produced at Ford's Greenfield.

Project Description

The project aimed to develop and deploy applications to control "real time" sequencing, tracking and delivery of parts on the production line. These applications run on the factory floor were developed on Pocket PC, with radio frequency communication standard 802.11b rely on a system developed by the rear InteMobile that ensures integration of end-to-end with database and ERP Visteon.

The application of sequencing aims to optimize the movement of the line operators and eliminate errors in the assembly of the panels through the validation readable collection of parts. The applications of traceability and sequencing to record and monitor in real time, with 99% efficiency, the parts used in assembly line and called for the recall. In addition, the system validates that the panels are being delivered and assembled in the correct order as required by Ford.

Solution Benefits

Ensuring quality control standard with 99% in the traceability of parts;
Total elimination of reworks the sequencing of assembly;
Reduced time to access the database for two seconds. Implementation of the concept of control "real time".

GM - Automation Assembly Line - Traceability

Solution Brief

Establish effective process and system to ensure traceability of items Critics and security, reducing the vehicles involved in recall campaigns
General Motors and Quality:
Since the design of the vehicle controls are in place to avoid any problem of product to the customer
Recall Campaigns:
Despite all efforts made, sometimes it becomes necessary to call customers to exchange parts
Case expensive, complex and affects the company's image
Traceability:
IT being used in GM to minimize or avoid prosecution recall vehicles

Flow Solution

Supplier
Delivery components with label bar code with valid content for traceability
Assembly Line
Station Production scanner uses wireless data collection for the label component and the vehicle
System
Validation of information read to ensure proper assembly of the component (error-proofing)
Database
Stores Association component vehicle in case of future need
Data collectors operating radio frequency, easily adaptable to any point on the assembly line and also in the patio area

Benefits

The system ensures:
That the correct component is being mounted on the vehicle
That same number is not associated with more than one vehicle
A vehicle does not receive more than one piece of the same type
Data parts are correctly associated with vehicles and allow accurate search in the event of recall
Combining the mobility process, the speed of vehicle identification and ease of registering the exchange of components leads to a large potential for cost reduction in recall campaigns
